W11 Research Methods

I love the topic for this week. I also loved President Nelson's quote: "Conflict only arises from an incomplete knowledge of either science, or religion, or both."

This statement applies to every aspect of my life. An incomplete knowledge has caused me to judge others unfairly and has put innocent people in jail or taken sincere people away from the church. It makes any game or movie stressful and frustrating. Almost everything that we do is done with an incomplete knowledge. I have an idea what the weather will be tomorrow, but I am not guaranteed sunshine. I am using a computer right now that operates outside of my understanding. But all these things are for our good. I was just saying the other day that homeschooling would be difficult for me in the subjects that I excel because I lack patience. It was very difficult for me to help my brother read because he was a slow reader.

Likewise, spiritual answers ordinarily come slow, and our fast-paced world has made most of us impatient, especially towards religion. Nothing frustrates me more than an individual that debunks the existence of God due to lack of evidence while ignoring the fact that evolution, without the intervention of God at some point, would in no way ever lead to the society that we have today. There is absolutely no way the first generation that ever lived raised themselves into adulthood without ever seeing what it looked like. Everything in life requires an adult to help the newborns but somehow, the first humans that ever lived managed to raise themselves without any knowledge on language or emotions. It is simply illogical to claim religion over science and science over religion when they both are meant to work together.
