- Differences in sexual desire.
- Treating sexual pleasure as an end, not a means. This is a big deal. Because sexual intimacy was designed by God to produce intense physical pleasure, some people mistakenly place physical pleasure as the primary purpose of sexuality. When this happens, people begin to justify selfish and disrespectful behavior in order to experience physical pleasure. In other words, they justify destructive means to meet a selfish end. This will not only destroy your sexual relationship if left unchecked—this will destroy your marriage. Sex, or the associated pleasure, was never intended to be an end in itself. The healthiest of sexual relationships will only ever be a means to a higher and more impactful end. Unfortunately, society at large has embraced the idea of making pleasurable sex the end we should all be striving for. Nothing could be further from the truth.
